EQUINE ISLAND ABC Vanity Fairs #06

I entered my bunch of nobby horses into the  ABC Feb  Vanity fair @Equine island while setting out my mixed bag of horses I bumped into none other than one of the owners of the Equine island, Mr. Neternal.

Mr. Neternal  & his wife  A1arica, alongside their band of merry men & women, have put together this amazing island,   with full sim Sized Cross Country Course, Half Sim Horse Race Track, Dressage Arena, Show Jumping Course, Pole Bending, Steeple Chasing For ABC Horses & lots More. Every month their calendar is full with many amazing varieties of events & contests not just for the ABC horses, include my personal favorite the ABC Vanity Fair Horse & Pony Show. 

This a  horse show where only the horse is judged, it is free to enter, there is no entry form  to fill in,  you are not required to ride, you don’t need to wear costume, you don’t need tack, basically  you  rez your horses &/or ponies – follow the guidelines & turn up on Saturday for the results, so  no fuss, no hassle , good fun &  generous prizes!

According to to the Equine Island website, there was a total of 258 horses and 126 ponies entered in the January 2017 Vanity Fair. That is a total of 384 combined entrants!  This represented 66 individual participants.  & A total of 24,300L$ was distributed in prizes.

So How does it work?.

Well first it’s divided into two Vanity Fairs – one for horses and one for Ponies – there are only 10 entries allowed in each breed, which  runs over the week – for entries open on Saturday 18th contestants have till 9pm slot on Wednesday the 22nd to enter up to five horses  if they wish & up to five in the ponies + 1 horse or pony in the ugly  category.



the judge commences from  Wednesday night – till Friday -where 3 different judges, judge each horse/ pony on their best selection of  Vanities for that breed- they give each entire a score & then the scores are counted up and the top score is the best in breed, followed  by 2nd, 3rd etc. the results & prize winnings are all issued out on Saturday, were contestant owners are  required to move their winning entries up to the podium  for prize-givings &judgingg for best in show. All  Best in breed winners each receive 200 linden plus ribbons & trophy.

The grand prize of Best in Show will receive 2.000 Lindens, Best in Show  ‘Equine Island’ Designer Jackets & Gift Cards from the Sponsors plus trophy & Best in Show ribbon

Reserve Best in the show, 3rd, 4th,5th,6th,7th, & 8th place also receive ribbons, & goodie packs & well as gift cards.

The following information i found on the equineisland.com website is very useful if your thinking of entering the show, you can also find FAQ and results for January’s show on their website too.

So, you have decided to enter our show, what next?

You would bring your horses to our showgrounds before the entry deadline, this will typically be 3 days before the show.

There is no entry form to submit and no fee to pay, just bring your horses and put them in the correct stall for their corresponding breed, put out some food if your horses require it, mission accomplished! That is it until show day!

We do request that you turn off the animations on your horses just to help decrease lag caused by this and to improve the experience for everyone.

Next, we book your horses in, you don’t even need to be present for that, we will do all the work for you.

The day before the show our judge(s) will judge the best of breed winners while the horses are in the stalls as well as best of the show. There is a prize for best of each breed and best of show prizes down to 8 places!

There is absolutely no need for you to be there whilst the judging takes place.

On show day you turn up and we will announce the lucky best of breed winners by alphabetical order of the breed. Then you can either ride or edit or lead your winner(s) to the winner’s lineup and once the best of breed winners have been announced we will announce the best of show winners in reverse order.

Prizes and ribbons will be given out and later in the day, a full list of results and the scores will be uploaded to our website which will be available to everyone.

Everyone we have mentioned this to has been in the very enthusiastic to the extremely exciting category.
