#32 Splendid Spaniels @ Epiphany

Splendid Spaniels @ Epiphany LM

I hope I  give you a little Epiphany here too…….

When I  saw this in my mail – I  said: “OMG I will have to get some money together for theses beauties”. Yes all animals have a soft  spot in my heart I can not  deny, but  the  love I have for the small spaniels goes back to my  childhood, my  mum bred for showing the Cavalier King Charles spaniels for 20 years,  Cavalier King Charles spaniels are slightly bigger then the king Charles spaniels, but also the nose or muzzle is straighter/longer and the tails are long and full of feather, apart from that the coats & the temperament are the same. theses dogs were bred for their kind outgoing, friendly temperaments to keep their masters/mistresses (owners) in good company, these are lap dogs at their finest.

And from wiki: The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a small spaniel classed as a toy dog by The Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club.[2] It originated in the United Kingdom and is one of the more popular breeds in many countries. Since 2000, it has grown in popularity in the United States and ranks as the 18th most popular pure-breed in the United States (2013 Registration Statistics).[2] It has a silky, smooth coat and commonly a smoothly undocked tail. The breed standard recognizes four colors: Blenheim (chestnut and white), Tricolor (black/white/tan), Black and Tan, and Ruby.[2] The breed is generally friendly, affectionate and good with both children and other animals; however, they require a lot of human interaction. Since they are a family dog, it is recommended to not leave them alone for long periods at a time. The expected average lifespan of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is under ten years.[3]

**Please note the picture they use for a cavalier at 0.21/0.33/0.57/1.41/1.53/2.08, 2.20 isn’t a cavalier its a springer spaniel puppy !!

But it’s a fun pet video I thought I would share it with you.

RIP Winston

So the puppy dogs featured by Jian @ Epiphany are The King Charles Spaniels & not the above

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels right!?

Wrong, unfortunately there incorrectly named  & its easily done, I don’t blame the creator.

Jian Spaniels are in fact Calivers, well they could be a combination of the both I spouse.

Infomation from wiki: The King Charles cavalier changed inordinately in the late 17th century when it was interbred with flat-nosed breeds. Until the 1920s, the Cavalier shared the same history as the smaller King Charles Spaniel. Breeders attempted to recreate what they considered to be the original configuration of the breed, a dog resembling Charles II‘s King Charles Spaniel of the Restoration.

Q) Why is the white and tan color called Blenheim: A) Blenheim in honour of Blenheim Palace, where John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, raised the predecessors to the Cavalier breed in this particular colour. In some dogs there is a chestnut spot in the middle of the forehead: this is called the “blenheim” spot.[14] The Blenheim spot is also known as the mark of the “Duchess Thumb Print”, based on the legend that Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough while awaiting news of her husband’s safe return from the Battle of Blenheim, pressed the head of an expecting dam with her thumb, resulting in five puppies bearing the lucky mark after news that the battle had been won
